Succeeding in Maths Mastery
This is a one day course with a follow-up twilight for primary teachers ( 3 to 11). Our aim will be to plan for improving teaching and learning for children to succeed in Maths Mastery.
You will be supported in understanding adult pedagogic strategies for successful mathematical learning. With facilitated support, you will identify what is going well in your classroom and where practice needs to improve. By the end of the day you will have your action plan ready!
What will the session cover?
- Looking at Children: A Case Study of a Master Mathematician
- An overview of pedagogic strategies to support mathematical learning
- ‘How can I improve my practice through action research?’
- Putting your plan together
You will present your action research project at the follow-up twilight. You will be able to invite a colleague from your workplace.
This course will be facilitated by Dr Christine Parker, a former Head teacher and expert in EYFS, assessment, meeting the needs of multilingual learners, leadership, learning alongside parents, developing social justice and children's voice in primary schools, and sustainable school improvement through action research.
