Exclusion Training
 

This interactive session seeks to ensure that the governing body and senior leadership team are compliant with exclusions law and guidance, understanding what they need to do at both the disciplinary committee stage and the Independent Review Panel Stage.

Knowing your School – For Governors 

These sessions are aimed at Governors to help them better understand their school’s improvement priorities and the school self-evaluation.


This course is split into three sessions and covers:

• Holding school leaders to account – This session helps Governors work in partnership with school leaders to develop a strategic plan and monitor all-round performance, not just test results. This will help governors to ask challenging and informed questions confidently.

• Monitoring, evaluating and ensuring impact around Pupil Premium, SEND and sports funding – This session is aimed at Governors to ensure they fully understand the knowledge, skills and expectations of Pupil Premium; catch up funding and SEND data.

• School data and inspection dashboard for Governors – This workshop aims to show Governors what they need to focus on and and how to support and challenge the leadership team in light of the school data.

Giles Osborne

Facilitator: Giles Osborne

Giles Osborne is currently a Lead Academy Improvement Partner and an ex Executive Headteacher at an all through school in the East Midlands. Working with DfE, HMI and Ofsted he specialises in all areas of data. Formerly an  LA advisor and a Senior University Lecturer at Brighton, Cambridge and Canterbury Christ Church. He is a national trainer for ASP and is currently supporting academy chains in all areas of leadership and preparation for Ofsted. He is the co-creator of ‘TEAM’, the National Database for SEMH schools and PRUs a national bench marking tool and progress model.

 

Course costs: A full day course is only £65 per delegate, which includes a light lunch and half a day course is £30.
