Reading is fundamental for all learning in school. This training day will help teachers to develop creative and inspiring activities so all children can listen, read and enjoy a range of high quality texts in a challenging and stimulating way. The day will provide ideas to develop a love of reading by using a range of different techniques. Participants will also explore a range of texts, explore practical ways of bringing texts to life and establish reading as ‘core’ to topic base work. Approaches to help pupils increase their skimming and scanning skills, improve their summarising and enrich their vocabulary will also be covered as part of the day.
