Gemma Marks appointed as Director of Teaching School and Professional Development

Gemma Marks was appointed in April 2020 as Director of Teaching School and Professional Development for the Brooke Weston Trust.

Following her work as an English Teacher in outstanding schools, first in Milton Keynes then at the British International School, Jakarta, Gemma first joined Brooke Weston Academy in 2007.
 
Here, Gemma undertook a number of leadership roles, first as Head of English, Assistant Principal and later as Director of Teaching and Learning. She was instrumental in the designation of Brooke Weston becoming one of the first 100 Teaching Schools nationally in 2011. Gemma was responsible for designing and delivering CPD and nationally recognised leadership programmes and developed a passion for power of system led leadership to transform the quality of education and opportunity for schools within the region
 
In 2013, Gemma then became Vice Principal at a Northampton school, developing a rich and varied leadership expertise that raised standards significantly.
 
Gemma is delighted to return to the Brooke Weston Trust to lead the Teaching School and the professional learning of colleagues within and beyond the Trust. "It feels like a home-coming. I am especially proud to work with the Brooke Weston Trust and to have the privilege of helping teachers and support staff fulfil their professional ambitions: to ignite the ambitions of the young people in their care and provide excellent, research-informed education to all.".
