Nicola Lawrence tells us about why she wanted to join our NPQSL.

‘My journey of working in schools started just over 12 years ago initially as a teaching assistant. I became really passionate in making a difference and providing the best opportunities for all children to achieve. I completed a Foundation degree in teaching and learning support, whilst continuing my role in school. This led to a progression to become the Well-Being and Behaviour Manager in another school for three years where I completed my BA honours and full degree. An opportunity then arose for a Senior Leadership post as Inclusion & Safeguarding Lead which I was successful in and have been in since March.

I have worked alongside some inspirational leaders and during my role I have learnt new skills and developed as a leader along the way. I wanted to take part in the NPQSL course to progress as a leader. I strive to be the best I can in supporting students and all of the fantastic staff I work with and I remain passionate in making a difference to children, their families and the community.

The NPQSL course will enable me to further develop my role and support both my school and myself in becoming an inspirational leader.’

If you are interested in joining our NPQSL, the next cohort will start in March 2018. Find out more by contacting Sayle Donativo at sdonativo@brookeweston.org
